A strange little side quest

The fun part of looking behind Countries of the World is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. That is only half the story. The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.

What you are getting into

Countries of the World is an educational game that teaches you where all countries in the world are located. Geography can be hard to memorize but with this map game, you will learn all of your countries in no time. There are 3 levels of this online game to help you study for the next big exam or if you want to just brush up on your geography skills. Each level contains 30 questions regarding each country you need to identify. You need to pass a certain amount of questions in order to advance to the next level.
