A strange little side quest
The mechanics around Match Master 3D have roots that stretch far beyond modern browsers. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. And then there is this: Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. That long chain of experiments is part of why arcade history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
