A strange little side quest
Black and White Dimensions has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. That is only half the story. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why puzzles still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
