Master Qwan's Mahjongg

A strange little side quest

Zoom out from Master Qwan's Mahjongg for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That gives Master Qwan's Mahjongg a little more company than it first appears to have.
