A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Mass Mayhem. Space Invaders arrived in 1978 and helped turn electronic games from an arcade curiosity into mainstream entertainment. That is only half the story. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That gives Mass Mayhem a little more company than it first appears to have.
