The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Jungle Tube Sort is anything but tiny. Arthur Wynne published a diamond-shaped 'Word-Cross' in the New York World on December 21, 1913; the name later shifted to 'Cross-Word' and then 'crossword'. That is only half the story. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Jungle Tube Sort feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
