A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Jewel Burst for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. The same trail leads to another fact: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
