The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Jetpack Escape is anything but tiny. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That gives Jetpack Escape a little more company than it first appears to have.
