The next time Jet Velocity 3D asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game, decades before modern 3D racers. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era.
