A strange little side quest
Mini Market Tycoon WebGL has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. And then there is this: M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
