A strange little side quest
Ice Cream Donut may feel immediate, but the ideas around food history have been evolving for a very long time. Tomatoes helped turn Naples' flatbreads into the food we recognize as pizza, which had become an important food for poorer Neapolitans by the 18th century. And then there is this: Barbie Fashion Designer became a major software hit in 1996, selling more than 500,000 copies in two months and proving there was a large audience for fashion-focused computer play. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
