A strange little side quest
Before the next round of My Scene, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Barbie Fashion Designer became a major software hit in 1996, selling more than 500,000 copies in two months and proving there was a large audience for fashion-focused computer play. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
