A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Hotel Run sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. Grombi files that under: small game, surprisingly large backstory.
