A strange little side quest
Hellokids Colors by Number belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That gives Hellokids Colors by Number a little more company than it first appears to have.
