A strange little side quest
Head Ball has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. The same trail leads to another fact: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
