A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Halloween Hide & Seek. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. The same trail leads to another fact: Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. That gives Halloween Hide & Seek a little more company than it first appears to have.
