A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Geometry Square, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. And then there is this: Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That long chain of experiments is part of why puzzles still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
