A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Fruita Swipe. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Fruita Swipe feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
