A strange little side quest
The next time Fortside asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. That long chain of experiments is part of why strategy games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
