A strange little side quest
Error#54 belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. The same trail leads to another fact: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives Error#54 a little more company than it first appears to have.
