A strange little side quest
The next time Countries Of The World: Level asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. The same trail leads to another fact: Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. That long chain of experiments is part of why learning games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
