A strange little side quest
One reason role-playing games keeps producing good game ideas around Dungeon of Dalogus is that its history is full of strange turns. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. That is only half the story. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
