A strange little side quest
Dora's Cooking in La Cucina has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Nancy Johnson patented a hand-cranked ice-cream freezer in 1843 that used an inner churning chamber surrounded by ice. The timeline takes another interesting turn: The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
