A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Bunny Bloony is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
