A strange little side quest
A little context makes Dora School Adventure more fun to place on the gaming map. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. And the history keeps stacking up: By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Dora School Adventure feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
