A strange little side quest
One reason food history keeps producing good game ideas around Donuts Shop is that its history is full of strange turns. Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The timeline takes another interesting turn: The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. That gives Donuts Shop a little more company than it first appears to have.
