A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Ice Cream Run is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
