A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Cyber City Hero. M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Women's boxing made its Olympic debut at London 2012. That long chain of experiments is part of why simulation games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
