A strange little side quest
Counter Strike Source has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. It also connects to a different milestone: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Counter Strike Source feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
