A strange little side quest
Corporate Soccer has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. The first penalty shoot-out in World Cup history came in the 1982 semi-final between West Germany and France. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. That gives Corporate Soccer a little more company than it first appears to have.
