A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Chessboard Master Trainer. Chess changed dramatically in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries when the queen became the board's most powerful piece. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
