A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Celebrity Sundance Film Festival. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why fashion and style still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
