A strange little side quest
Put Castle Mysteries next to the history of archery and a few unexpected connections appear. Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
