A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Car Driving Test Simulator is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game, decades before modern 3D racers. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
