A strange little side quest
The mechanics around Bullet Bender Webgl have roots that stretch far beyond modern browsers. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. A second detail makes the picture even better: Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
