A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Bubble Shooter Levels is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That gives Bubble Shooter Levels a little more company than it first appears to have.
