A strange little side quest

There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Bone Throwing. Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
