A strange little side quest
Between one round of Blade & Bedlam and the next, this is worth knowing: The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. That is only half the story. Boxing entered the modern Olympic Games in 1904 at St. Louis. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Blade & Bedlam feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
