A strange little side quest
A small trivia drop for Binarized Shooter: Chess changed dramatically in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries when the queen became the board's most powerful piece. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware.
