A strange little side quest
Audrey's Valentine belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. In 18th-century America, upper-class men as well as women wore make-up, a reminder that beauty customs have never been as fixed as they can seem. The timeline takes another interesting turn: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
