A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Arcade Wizard is anything but tiny. Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
