A strange little side quest
One reason arcade history keeps producing good game ideas around Alvin Music Match is that its history is full of strange turns. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. And the history keeps stacking up: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That long chain of experiments is part of why arcade history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
