If Little Jump Guy sends you down a curiosity rabbit hole, start here. Sonic the Hedgehog launched in 1991 and turned speed itself into a defining platform-game mechanic. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Little Jump Guy feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
