A strange little side quest
A little context makes Alhambra Solitaire more fun to place on the gaming map. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. A second detail makes the picture even better: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
