Between one round of Aim At the Mark and the next, this is worth knowing: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976.
