A strange little side quest
Zoom out from 2 Volt for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives 2 Volt a little more company than it first appears to have.
