A strange little side quest
One reason role-playing games keeps producing good game ideas around Flappy Wings is that its history is full of strange turns. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That gives Flappy Wings a little more company than it first appears to have.
