A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in 12 Rooms No Escape. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. And the history keeps stacking up: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at 12 Rooms No Escape feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
