A strange little side quest
Yanet in Yonderland has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. That is only half the story. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Yanet in Yonderland feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
