A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Void Strike: Deep Space Survival is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Boxing was part of the ancient Olympic Games by 688 BC, long before gloves, weight classes, or timed rounds existed in anything like their modern form. The same trail leads to another fact: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That gives Void Strike: Deep Space Survival a little more company than it first appears to have.
